Musculoskeletal (sports) imaging

Musculoskeletal radiology is the radiology subspecialty dedicated to the diagnosis of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Numerous imaging modalities, such as plain x-rays, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, arthrography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear medicine imaging are utilized by our musculoskeletal radiologists to identify problems with the bones, joints, tendons/ligaments, and muscles.

In addition to performing diagnostic examinations, therapeutic joint injections can be performed under fluoroscopic guidance to help alleviate joint pain, most commonly in the shoulders, hips, sacroiliac joints, and facet joints of the lower lumbar spine.

All of the musculoskeletal radiologists with Texas Radiology Associates are board certified and fellowship trained, with decades of experience in the diagnosis of a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders, such as sports injuries, arthritis, infection, or cancer.
